Naftalan therapy provides anti‑inflammatory, desensitizing, general and local immunostimulating, analgesic, and neurotrophic effects, while improving pelvic blood flow.

Therapeutic Methods

  • Naftalan applications;
  • Naftalan tampons;
  • Electronaftalan therapy (diathermic induction and galvanic Naftalan therapy).

In addition to thermal and chemical factors, biologically active substances in Naftalan‑based peloids play an essential role, including hormone-like agents, antibiotics, and biogenic stimulators. Naftalan therapy shows the strongest anti‑inflammatory effect during the proliferation stage and during relapse. In conditions with mild fibrotic changes, Naftalan helps reduce connective tissue formations in the inflammation zone. It improves tissue nourishment, promotes scar healing, and softens adhesions.

Naftalan also has bactericidal properties due to natural bacteriophages and antibiotic-like substances produced by microbial antagonists (bacteria, actinomycetes, molds). Treatment leads to significant cleansing of vaginal secretions. For vaginal therapy, fully de-resinated (white) Naftalan is used.
